Under Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) oversight, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is currently conducting the remediation and restoration of the TVA Allen Fossil Plant. The project includes dewatering of the former coal ash ponds, removal of coal ash to the Republic Services South Shelby Landfill, and installation of an onsite groundwater treatment system. Representatives of the TDEC will be available to answer questions and provide the latest information regarding the project.
